Lightning and other disasters

They say that lightning never strikes twice. Let's hope that that's the case for the first part of our cruise to Madeira, because the last time our lovely ship, Black Watch,
was en-route to Madeira in July last year, there was a serious fire aboard which temporarily disabled the engines and shut down many services aboard the ship. More details here.

Judging by the feedback from some passengers, they felt that the crew and company did everything they could to keep the passengers and crew safe and happy, even though all the passengers had to be flown home early.

And just to add to the air of optimism, earthquakes aside, we'll keep our fingers crossed on the transatlantic flight home, that we don't suffer the same fate as Air France Flight 447 !

Enough jolly stuff, do we really want to leave our bright and sunny garden as photographed just a few minutes ago?
with buds bursting out all over ....

well, yes, it's still very cold .....

this was just a few feet away from the other two photos and taken at the same time of day - it doesn't seem to have got above freezing in the shade, all day.

Roll on Madeira.
